Villiers mark 15 four-stroke engine.
Timing of the above engines
Wear and tear on these old engines means you need to sometimes adjust the timing a little from the specs given in the manuals for an efficient running engine.
Make sure the spark plug is good, clean and set to the proper gap. Carefully take out any pitting of the points with very fine flour paper and clean with a cloth or paper and set the points to recommended gap.
Timing the two stroke- The spark is timed to take place 5/32''-3/32'' BTDC depending upon wear of engine components and both four-strokes are approx 3/16'' BTDC just as the breaker points begin to open, depending upon wear of the engine components.
