The Allen Scythe needs no introduction. Made by John Allen & Sons (Oxford) ltd.
A scarce early 1950s leaflet advertising hedge cutters, grass trimmer and generator. Two generators were made for the Allen Scythe, the 200W & 400W models. The larger generator powered the Super-Duty hedge cutter attachment which consisted of the 400W generator, specially designed telescopic counterpoise and Hedge Master cutter, designed for farm & roadside hedges.
This larger unit is a rarely seen attachment and you would do well to remember what it looks like in case one crops up at a farm or general sale. How many machinery attachments have we all seen at sales not realizing what they were, probably not sold and scrapped.
